not only communication system be the technology of tomorrow, it contributes to modern sciences too. say medicines, flights, foods...
technology is changing but the course you want to get into would be the basis of your future. think of what you want to be, can you achieve your dreams with the choice of other in the pursuit of your future... CERTAINLY NOT. whatever you wish to be, the choice is yours. if you want to be an engineer, go on.. pursue a career in one. if you want to be a lawyer, or a doctor, or a businessman... go ahead. it's your life and your dream... what do you see yourself, ten years from now?
it doesn't really matter about the "in-thing" these days. adaptability to technology is easy... and if you plan on building something or being a part of it, go ahead....
good luck on your choice of career...
by the way, i'm a bachelor of science in electronics and communications engineering graduate... and i say, it's fun to be an engineer... ciao.

Satellites, and radars, have been a mainstay, of the civilised world, for longer than you'd ever believe. The military have been using radars, since the 40's, and satellites since the 60's. ANYTHING that the military has devised will flow into life, as a huge technological leap, eventually. Computers are driven, by the ability to 'talk' to each other. It won't be long, before we'll be using satellites, instead of phone lines, or cables, to feed that need. Get in at the bottom floor. You'll make a mint !!!!!!!

oh most definatley! The world is run by computers now! Remember what was going on in 1999 - how everyone thought the world would come to a screeching halt becuase the computers weren't set for the right date.
I mean if I call for example my credit card company and want such and such information - they say they can't do it because the computers are down.. and it's happened with the telephone company as well, and with social security..
If you get into communications - you will NEVER be without a job!

Follow your heart. If you are interested then you have a much increased chance of passing. Very few of us are actually working in the area we studied. So given the depth of the field you want to start in you can decide where you want to work later. The world is your oyster!
Dont tart yourself out to something with percieved prospects that may bore you as you may not do as well.
Good Luck!
