I need a drive that can give me at least 1200 rpm on a regular unipolar step motor is it possible? where do I find a schematics for this?

That sounds like a high RPM. Driving a stepper motor at 400 steps per second is considered high. If the stepper motor steps 7.5degreess per step then there are 48 steps per revolution which would give approximately 10 revolutions per second or 600 revolutions per minute. And this would only work if the stepper motor was unloaded and had no large mass on its shaft. 1200 RPM sounds like the wrong application for a stepper motor.

Also if you overdrive it with high voltages and currents it will get too hot very quickly.

By applying a higher resistance and reducing the same before the supply current reaches the field.
