And I don't mean one of those toy kits from the American Stirling Co. (http://www.stirlingengine.com/), I mean one that produces decent power. It doesn't have to be a lot of power, but it'd be nice to hook it to a generator or an alternator and be able to measure wattage.

Why don't we have a wireless adaptor plugged into our power outlets that would allow appliances to draw power from it wirelessly in the same way radio stations transmit large amounts of radio signals or in the same way wireless internet works?

With areas of the world in drought situations, while other areas are being flooded, couldn't mankind (aside from political & cultural differences) develop and build a system that would allow water to be collected and moved around where it was most needed? Any thoughts?

According to the internet,

"The chemical makeup of the recording layer in a CD-RW disc is polycrystalline. In order to burn on this substance, the laser beam must heat the areas of the recording track to between 500 and 700 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, the crystals melt and become non-crystalline (this is called an amorphous phase). The crystals in this phase will scatter the laser beam when being read and resemble pits."

How do you take that 700 degree C laser and make it into a hand-held burning laser tool?

(It would be good for killing ants, melting ice, starting camp fires, killing rats, etc.)
