I saw a beautiful tree with purple flowers that have a wonderful smell that seems familiar, almost like wine. It has tear-shaped leaves that are across from each other. If anyone knows what is is or can point me to some good websites, please let me know.

This is a rumour I've recently heard. I've searched the web and found out that ethylene seems to play a major role in the ripening of plants in general. Since it is a gas, it could explain why other fruits ripe faster when stored with apples. But this would mean that apples somehow produce more ethylene than other fruits? I'm confused!

With the orange shortage in North America I see oranges coming from China. But almost all of the oranges in China are injected with some sort of sugar or chemical to make them sweeter. I know for a fact that whatever it is injected with is not healthy and you can also see holes on the oranges. Does anyone have anymore information on how they do this and the chemical they use? I know about this because ive had oranges in China and many people tell me about this but I cannot find any information on this topic
