Ok i needed 2 get research papers for what happens to plants (im using a Coleus for the plant.) when fed Caffinated coffee and decaffinated coffee. Has anyone done this experiment before?

It makes such a little difference, you can't tell the difference in the way the plants grow.

Only certain plants benifit from caffine, since caffine is a natural chemical made in most plants the plant can prosper from an increased caffine but like humans the plant can become stressed out and even poisoned from to much caffine.

COFFEE GROUNDS WILL GIVE YOU A BETTER RESULT,
JUST USE GROUNDS FOR THE SOIL.

don't have any data to give you. However, I do have some information that may be helpful.

Plants can only absorb essential minerals from the soil when the soil pH (acidity) is in the proper range. If the soil is too acidic or too alkaline, the mineral nutrients do not dissolve properly and are unavailable to the plant. When that happens the plant very slowly starts to lose its healthy green color and its vigor.

Coffee is quite acidic. If it is added to the soil over a long period of time (several months or more), then the soil will become too acidic, the minerals will not be absorbed by the roots, and plant will start to exhibit pale green leaves.

Done. The group used tea (with contains more theophiline than caffeine) and pure caffeine. I can't say I've done a thorough search of the literature, but this popped u on a quick scan.

... I've heard of it being used in compost... it comes from a plant and carries nutrients so i would assume it can benifit the growth of plants... but i wouldn't know what it would do directly...
