Frost injures plants by causing ice crystals to form in plant cells, making water unavailable to plant tissues and disrupting the movement of fluids. Frost-damaged leaves appear water-soaked, wither, and turn dark brown or black and die. I'm not sure to fill out your blanks.

I favor to tug out the annuals after frost... sure annuals arise once that modern-day year... I do have petunias that their seeds get into protecting places and new flora have sprouted from the seeds. same issues with snapdragons.
