Heat death is among the ways speculated that the universe as we know it will end up. If that happens, will anything be able to live anywhere at any level of operation? If so, what might life be like for them? Could any civilizations survive into this era?

Certain facts about space are widely accepted:

1) It is REALLY big... many claim infinite. This means there are near infinite chances for the right life supporting conditions to occur on at least one other planet.
2) That humankind could neither visit nor observe 99.9999% of it even if we could travel at light speed. As such if life already existed we probably wouldn't know about it.
3) That scattered throughout space there are millions of solar systems like ours. Each planet with its unique climatic characteristics.
4) Space based life forms (even earth based ones) do not have to be carbon based. Silicon or Sulphur would work too.
5) Finally the majority of the world's population claims to believe in some god. If people believe in a larger creator how would life on other planets seem so impossible?

Ok, I was reading an article the other day, that astronomers have found earth and mars like planets 400000 light years away, or something like that.

I am new to this so someone kind of explain this to me. So it take 400,000 light years for the light to reach us, so we can see it here from earth. So there is a possibility that those planets could have evolved, and be bearing intelligent life right now but since the great distance, we are just seeing the beginnings of it. Just want someone to say if I am on the right page. It is mind boggling

For example, instead of 24 hours in a day, it would be 100 hours a day.

I was just curious.

Is it possible?

So, If one of these particular asteroids were to hit earth, the asteroid and its moons would hit?

I want to buy a telescope to view the sky, moon, planets, galaxies, etc... I want it for terrestrial observation too. I found 6 telescopes that I like. Now i don't know which of these it's better. If you have better suggestions don't hesitate to tell.

here are the links:

Of the two, which factor more significantly impacts the inability to see stars clearly in a big city sky:

Is it more:

1) Air Pollution (smog, smoke, dirty air, etc.)
2) The presence of so many lights within the city
