Are we the only ones here in the Universe? Most smart people think that there MUST be somebody else out there somewhere.

If we even THINK that there might be others out there, is it morally OK to send hazardous waste out into space, not knowing, really, where it might end up?

What if it hits some alien on the head a million years from now? And what if the alien is a boy whose Dad died when he was only 10 (Fifth Grade, Miss Morrison's class) and he had to take care of his Mom and and his sister (Piret, funny name, I know), because his Dad always said If anything happens to me, you're the man of the house and the boy promised and Dad said I know I can count on you son and wouldn't it be unfair to hit that Alien boy on the head with a bucket of Earth Garbage and prevent him from keeping his promise?

When they was on the dark side of the moon, they lost all radio contact. Buzz Aldrin saw something and apparently he went mad.

Does it exist everywhere and consume the areas around planets and stars or is it something that is gigantic, but exists beyond our telescope range?

I know that it was Full Moon just a couple of days ago, so it should still look somewhat circular. Even then, it looked very unusual, not quite circular, almost droopy. What has happened that it looks 'egg-shaped?'

I keep hearing that the US government is retiring its space shuttle fleet in 2010. But I've also heard that President Bush wanted to return people to the moon by 2020, how is that going to happen without space shuttles, and why is the fleet being grounded in the first place?

I find it difficult to get enthusiastic about the current activities. It seems to me that we are just crossing our fingers and hoping that nothing goes seriously wrong. The great successes have become old news. What is missing?

I have this problem that I really don't get. It goes like this:

"Rex weighs 200 pounds on the surface of a planet that has the same radius as Earth but four times its mass. How much would Rex weigh on a planet that has the same mass as Earth but half its radius?"
A) 50 lbs B) 100 lbs C) 200 lbs D) 400 lbs E) 800 lbs

The formula you have to use is W = (Gm)/r^2
G= universal gravitational constant
W = weight, or force of gravity on the mass
m = mass
r ^2= radius squared

The answer is 200 lbs, but I don't get why. I tried using the formula and it doesn't work. Can anyone explain please????

Nearly every primative society that engaged in any form of astrology (no matter how seperated from one another they were) predicts that the world will come to any end in the year 2012, when astronomers tell us some rare allignment of planets and stars occurs. However, this allignment has happened before several times in Earth's history, most recently some 13,000 years ago. Did anything significant happen then, or any of the other times when the coming cosmic allignment of 2012 happened in the past?

pluto is a panet because the defintiotin is this

A CELESTIAL BODY MOVING IN A ELLIPTICAL ORIBT AROUND THE STAR

now celestial means:related to they sky, or outer space

elliptical means:oval shaped

now pluto reaches those requirements, i don't care what scientists say, but pluto is a planet

P.S.i looked up the words in the dictionary just in case you were wondering
