I know that it was Full Moon just a couple of days ago, so it should still look somewhat circular. Even then, it looked very unusual, not quite circular, almost droopy. What has happened that it looks 'egg-shaped?'

It's perfectly normal. It is simply no longer fully illuminated on the side facing us, so we don't see a full circle. When the Moon is in its crescent phase the unlit part appears 'egg shaped'. This is just the reverse of that, with an illuminated 'egg shaped' area and an unilluminated crescent.

The moon is in a gibbous phase. That means the side facing the Earth is more than 50% illuminated, but less than 100%. It is the opposite of a crescent moon.

It is a few days past full, that is what happened. It takes about a week to go from full to half. Now it is about 3/4. Less than full but more than half. This happens every month; I am surprised you are not used to seeing it by now.

I think you have been sipping a little too much eggnog on those cold Canadian nights. The moon looks like a pock marked lemon. Sheeeesh. I thought everyone knew that.
