20 or so light years away.
it's all the rage (to those of us with a somewhat warped sense of reality) today.
it's within the orbital range that would support liquid water.
and who's gravity would be similar to that of earth (thus the interior dynamics).
or so we've been lead to believe.

the question is, would Venus also pass that test?

I plan to research , develop and finance an intergalactic starship on the internet - is this possible given that all the best brains, enterpreneurs, draftsmen, engineers and management groups will all have access to the same information and each contribution will move the project forward by decades. Imagine what you can do with a million man hours and 100 million contributors !! Whats your opinion?

We know that we got scientists monitoring space for meteors that might collide with earth. But what about objects hitting the sun or any other planet in our solar system. Any significant meteor hitting one of these planets or the sun might cause an imbalance that would still have an effect on life on earth. Any feedback out there??

the earth is protected against being cratored by impacts because objects burn in the atmosphere. so my thought is that if you break up the object before impact with the surface you expose more suface area to heating thus more burns up before striking the eath thus less damage is done. I have heard countless experts say that breaking up an asteroid before impact does little. why am i wrong?
