The most common answer seems to be that "gravity pulls me and makes me remain over Japan"...but lets assume that I am hovering over the Equator and remaining over the Equatorial line the whole time...meaning the gravity remains the same through out....and I was of the belief that Gravity is directed towards the center of the Earth and not over any place in particular (JAPAN ) in this case....If I am right..then how can Gravity which is always directed towards the center of Earth...cause a drag effect that keeps me over Japan.....
Then another answer i got about being governed by the laws of nature...and flying form east to west and from West to east taking different time....isnt that right actually...isnt that the reason why aircrafts flying from US to India flies against the rotation of the Earth and not with the rotation of Earth...correct me if i am wrong.
I know I am wrong guys, that what I said is not possible!! but I cant find a explanation to this..thats why i am posting it ag

Assume that I am in Japan...I climb into a helicopter and go up to about 11 km...then i remain stationary for about 12 hrs?....Where will I be then?...In the US?....[expl: the earth is revovling ..and I am stationary...so logically speaking I must be on the other side of the globe ....]..Please lemme know is the explanation is correct....If it is !!!! then if i reduce the distance between the helicopter and earth to about 25 meters....again will the same conditions apply..meaning will i be in US after 12 hr?......(not considering the hills mountains and trees where my helicopter might get stuck)

Given the latitude and time of year, how do I calculate the angle of the sun at any random date? For example, at 66.5°N, the angle of the sun is 0° on Dec 22, 23.5° on the equinoxes and 47° on the summer solstice. Am I correct in that the speed is not linear (ie the angle would change much faster around the equinoxes than around the solstices). What equation can I use?

Would you rather have a REFLECTOR that is 114mm (4.5) or REFRACTOR that is 130mm (5.1)

They cost the same and I need to choose one.

I'm trying to get my head around black holes. Can anyone explain in as simplistic a way as possible how the collapse of a star creates a black hole and what happens to the "stuff" that gets sucked into the hole.

Thanks guys 8-)
