Super goob is close to being right. Stars die because they run out of fuel in the core (where the fusion is taking place) that is sufficient to sustain their state of equilibrium.
It is not precisely true that they run out of fuel altogether, but that the only fuel left is not strong enough to keep them from collapsing. Some stars stop at helium, others stop at heavier elements. Depending on the mass, stars will fuse hydrogen, helium, carbon, etc all the way up to iron and get more energy out of the fusion process than they put into it. (It takes more energy to fuse iron than you get out of it in the process)
At some point, they just "run out of steam". When that happens, they will die in some way that is, again, determined by their mass. If they're really small, they will just turn off and start fading and getting dimmer and colder. If they are normal sized (like the sun), they will go through a red giant stage and then puff off their outer layers and become a white dwarf and then start getting colder and dimmer.
If they are big stars, they may go through a supernova stage and become a neutron star or even a black hole.

Stars are powered by nuclear fusion generated due to enormous pressures and temperatures. They run out of fuel to fuse in to heavier elements. Large stars dont die after they run out of hydrogen and helium - they start fusing larger elements right up until Iron. Elements with higher atomic numbers come from supernovas.
That is the 'why' - What happens when they do 'die' and the various permutations of novas, reductions in size to white dwarfs, neutron stars or if the star is big enough, a black hole - is a fascinating subject and well worth looking in to.
Wikipedia might be a good start but there are lots of good books - Hawking's brief history of time talks about black holes but theres a great book called 'the little book of stars' that explains the life cycles of stars with varying masses. regards.

Because, although outwardly they are successful and have fame and adulation, inwardly they feel they are not given the love and attention that they always wanted, and when they find someone to love, they are never sure if they are loved for the person they feel they are are, or for their public persona.
Starved of love, the stars feel there is no reason to go on and just wink out of existence.
It's very sad, really. :-(

cos they are so dense that they have a super gravitational pull which makes lots of other things stick to them which makes them even more dense which gives them an even greater gravitational pull. This eventually makes said star so dense that it collapses in on itself and becomes some kind of super sized dyson. This is a black hole i do believe - aka a dead star! xx

Like a fire, sooner or later it runs out of fuel (areas of which can be identified by 'black spots' on the surface...
The sun then goes nova and expands massively... then implodes collapsing in on itself causing such a huge void of gravity that a black hole is created...
Why they die?,.... everything has its alloted time in this universe.
