How did you expect this question to go? Of course the jesus freaks would come in and say..."jesus is coming..! " , well its hard for me to agree with that because it wont happen. All of you who say this are living a fantasy...the bible is messed up, written by men, and cannot be more than a old time novel. Theres SO many contradictions and some of it has been written off by science as "baloney".

Why care or worry about what will befall the planet, we will prolly blow it up ourselves and trash it until it becomes just a husk of a rock. Leave god out of it, if he were real, and his plan was supposed to be for a perfect world, he should've came down and fixed it already.

According to islamic point of view there will be colateral damage, the oceans will burn, the hills and rocks will blow up like wool, and the sky will begin to break, this is a concept similar to armagedon believed in almost relegions. any how this is strictly believed by muslims and this is also discovered by the cosmologists and quantum physisists. the slightest mistke from the orbiting satillites or from any collision from a broken star may take it very closer.
many other things are predicted by the holy quraan. i.e the sun will rise from the west on the last day of the universe, also there will be a world war before all this and devil "dajjal" will fight eessa
or the jesues (in christian terms) and finally he will kill dajjal.

in about 5 million years give or take a millenium the sun will burn out to a red giant and the earth will be swallowed up by its solar diameter. Frizzled
