The function is f(x) =

1
-------------------------------
x^3 + 12x^2 + 48x + 43

I graphed it in my calculator, and it came out to be a parabola. Parabolas do not pass the horizontal line test to see if it is a one to one function or not. As far as I know, if a function is not one to one, then the inverse does not exist.

I want to find out another way to find out that there is no inverse to this function other than from graphing.
I know you can interchange x and y, but I don't know what to do after I completed that step. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks - phuoc

You visit your favorite bakery and decide to buy four cookies. The bakery sells three different types of cookies: chocolate chip, peanut butter, and sugar cookies with sprinkles. How many different four cookie selections can you select from this bakery? For example, one selection could be two chocolate chip, one peanut butter, and one sugar cookie with sprinkles.

I bought some fancy crackers that sounded yummy, and looked pretty. Nice for entertaining. Later on at home when I read the label,I found out one of the ingrediants are hemp seeds.I am in a profession that is subject to random drug testing.I am now afraid to eat these pretty crackers. A few months ago,a co-worker was fired for flunking a test. She hired a attonrney and got her job back. The rest of us got an E-mail saying we could not use Hemp as a excuse for failing a drug test, and that we were not to use ANY Hemp products. She used the Hemp defense and our employer closed the hole behind her. It was a fluke that I read the packet ingrediants, because the hemp was not in big letters.I cuold of naivly eaten them. This worries me. Please advise
