I also work for the National Waether Service and agree with the person above, www.weather.gov is the best website for an accurate fprecast. when the page comes up all you need to do is select your state and area on an interactive map, there is also a list of all the warnings, watches and advisories taking place in the whole united states.

Well, since I work for the National Weather Service, I am slightly biased :), but the NWS has around 120 offices across the nation, each with their own webpage devoted to that local area. You can access a gridded database forecast for a specific area/city/point on a map. Basically, the way the NWS makes forecasts is by creating a gridded database at each office for things like temperature, precipitation, winds, clouds, etc. When you use a NWS website for the forecast, you will get that EXACT forecast for that point. Each office is staffed by degreed and trained meteorologists with local expertise. Now, that doesn't guarantee that the forecast will be accurate all the time :), but its a great source to start with. Plus, the NWS it the only entity that can issue severe weather watches/warnings/advisories (including winter).

NOAA is the best and most accurate considering the forescast comes from somewhere close to your region. The Weather Channel is no good because they are forecasting from Atlanta so they are not in the immediate region.
