A 2% difference in atmospheric pressure exists between the underside and top of a roof during strong winds. Show that the resulting lifting force on a roof that has a projected horizontal area of 2000 m(squared) is more than 4 million N.

I know that pressure=force/area so.. force=pressure x area, but I do not seem to be getting the correct area. Any help please?

In a hotel bathroom, the tiles on the floor are 4" squares. There are similar tiles on the wall. The door opens into the bathroom with the hinge on the right side of the door frame. The door frame extends 2" from the adjacent wall (or in other words, the door hinge is 2" from the corner). The center of a rubber bumper on the end of a 1/2" long door stop contacts the adjacent wall 1" from the end of the fourth tile from the corner. Directly opposite the rubber bumper is the screw for attaching the door stop to the door.

How far from the hinge is the center of the screw hole for the rubber bumper? State you answer to the nearest 1/16th of an inch.

It is true that the complete combustion of a hydrocarbon can do more work than incomplete combustion. Compare the work ΔG done by the combustion of one mole of ethane undeer these conditions.
Incomplete combustion: 2 C2H6 (g) + 5 O2 (g) → 4 CO(g) + 6 H2O (g)
Complete combustion: 2 C2H6 (g) + 7 O2 (g) → 4 CO(g) + 6 H2O (g)

can someone please help me solve this problem? and show how it is done.

Ok. So biology we have to make a newspaper up or whatever and everything has to be about the various groups of organisms: insects, mammals, angiosperms, gymnosperms, amphibians, annelid worms, nonvascular plants, and protozoans.
And my partner is doing the editorial, so im waiting for her to get done so i can write the letter to the editor. But what should i write about for the lead story? I already know what im going to do for the review. So. Yeah. The lead story has to be a scientific news story about characteristics of each group of organisms & it has to be a news breaking story. Real or not. HELP PLEASEEE.

Jessica shines a lamp that emits a variable intensity light on a photoelectric cell. She notices that a current can be detected on the current indicator. When the lamp is turned on, no current is detected. Even increasing the intensity of the light t the maximum level has no effect.

Jessica repeats the experiment with a different lamp. When the lamp is turned on, no current is detected. Even increasing the intensity of the light t the maximum level has no effect.
