A disk-shaped merry-go-round of radius 2.58 m and mass 157 kg rotates freely with an angular speed of 0.596 rev/s. A 70.1 kg person running tangential to the rim of the merry-go-round at 3.31 m/s jumps onto its rim and holds on. Before jumping on the merry-go-round, the person was moving in the same direction as the merry-go-round's rim. What is the final angular speed of the merry-go-round?
rad/s

I heard that, along with the dangers of microwave cooking. I told someone about this theory and he didn't believe me.

So I got four plants at the dollar store. Two get microwaved water and two get regular water.

Problem is... they're all flourishing. It hasn't been more than a week or so though.

So, has anyone ever tried this? What was the result? For how long did you microwave the water? How long did it take for you to see results.

A uniform meter stick of mass M has an empty paint can of mass m hanging from one end. The meter stick and the can balance at a point 21.5 cm from the end of the stick where the can is attached. When the balanced stick-can system is suspended from a scale, the reading on the scale is 2.40 N. Calculate the mass of the meter stick.

A crate rests on a flatbed truck which is initially traveling at 13.7 m/s on a level road. The driver applies the brakes and the truck is brought to a halt in a distance of 36.2 m. If the deceleration of the truck is constant, what is the minimum coefficient of friction between the crate and the truck that is required to keep the crate from sliding?

A robin just flew into our patio door. It hit really hard. It left a feathers and blood on the window. It fell to the patio and it is obviously dead. It is very windy today. Did that have anything to do with it? Our window has dog prints on it- so it's not like the bird couldn't see it.

Another optimization problem that my professor didn't go over. Any help would be much appreciated guys, I don't even know where to start. The problem is:

Find the rectangle of maximum area that can be inscribed in a right triangle with legs of length 3 and 4 if the sides of the rectangle are parallel to the legs of the triangle.

1. Determine the molar solubility of PbI2. The Ksp values for PbI2 is 8.7 x 10^-9.

2. Determine the molar solubility of 100 mL of a solution of PbI2 to which 0.01 mole of lead nitrate, Pb(NO3)2 has been added. Assume the total volume remains at 100 mL.

3. The Ksp valu for calcium carbonate is 4.5 x 10^-9. Calculate the solubility of calcium carbonate in g/L.

If you could explain the steps I would really appreciate it so I can figure out the others on my own.

When I visit the in-laws, we usually run into a woman around town who is psychic. Whenever I see her, she blurts out things, in front of the in-laws, about how I am feeling. The worst part about it is - she is right on! She says she can read a lot of things on me and my feelings "because I am needy" in that way. She does not charge for readings, and I have never had in-depth conversation with her. She just stops me and says things. Sometimes these feelings are private though, and she doesn't filter what she says, and she tells the in-laws what she saw in me. Is there a way I can block her from seeing my feelings? I am actually anxious about seeing her again!

It's when you are asleep in body, but not in head, can't move, breathe for yourself in most cases and have to deal with it.
My question is...
Can you still get Anesthesia Awareness if you are under General Anestesia?
