An amount of Chlorine gas weighs 5.67g and reacts with 8.90 g Oxygen to form a compound. What is the empirical formula?

Ok is the stuff with the grams there to throw me off? Isn't the empirical formula just Cl2O? What's with this question?

Ok, I was reading an article the other day, that astronomers have found earth and mars like planets 400000 light years away, or something like that.

I am new to this so someone kind of explain this to me. So it take 400,000 light years for the light to reach us, so we can see it here from earth. So there is a possibility that those planets could have evolved, and be bearing intelligent life right now but since the great distance, we are just seeing the beginnings of it. Just want someone to say if I am on the right page. It is mind boggling

I was just curious.

I want to buy a telescope to view the sky, moon, planets, galaxies, etc... I want it for terrestrial observation too. I found 6 telescopes that I like. Now i don't know which of these it's better. If you have better suggestions don't hesitate to tell.

here are the links:

A lunch tray is being held in one hand, as the drawing illustrates. The mass of the tray itself is 0.200 kg, and its center of gravity is located at its geometrical center. On the tray is a 1.00 kg plate of food and a 0.275 kg cup of coffee. Obtain the force T exerted by the thumb and the force F exerted by the four fingers. Both forces act perpendicular to the tray, which is being held parallel to the ground.
T = N (downward)?
F = N (upward) ? link to image:http://img251.imageshack.us/my.php?image=0968lr6.gif

Herbie eats excessive amounts of hotdogs each week. They are preserved with sodium nitrite, but his stomach is slowly finding out as it's acid converts the sodium nitrite to nitrous acid, a weak mutagen. In the lining of Herbie's stomach three little cells each experience a mutation in their DNA and it happens to be in the very same gene--a kinase gene called src. (Src is an example of what Dr. Howard Temin called a "proto-oncogene.) But the three little cells each experienced a different kind of mutation in that gene:

Cell #1's src DNA was altered so that it's product is present in normal amounts, but no longer functions.

Cell #2's src DNA was altered so that it produces almost no gene product at all.

Cell #3's src DNA was altered so that it's gene product has normal function but is overproduced.

Which cell is more likely to become cancerous and why?

The combustion of 2.209 grams of elmonane, a hydrocarbon with a molar mass of 218.00 grams/mole, released 44.31 kJ of heat energy. What is the molar heat of combustion for elmonane (kJ/mol)?

For this I worked it out as:
2.209/218= 0.0101mol E (E for elmonane)
44.31/.0101 = 4387.13

But my answer is wrong. What am I supposed to be doing? And what is the right answer?
