Afghanistan suffered two major earthquakes in 1998. The one on Feb 4 had a Richter magnitude of 6.1 causing 2300 deaths, and the other one on May 30 measured 6.9 on the Richter scale, killing about 4700 people. How many times more powerful was the deadlier quake?

Please help? I don't even know where to start and have been trying it for hours :(

I never had anybody tell me this until my wife learned this today from someone at work. I couldn't believe it until I tried it. I had my wife go far out of range, and then I called her by cell phone. With the key in her hand, and me by my car door holding the cell phone, she pressed unlock on the key remote and unlocked my door. This is great if you lose your key or leave it in the car, and someone else in your family has an extra key to your car, and you can call them to unlock your door.

I'm a clinical laboratory science major and we did blood smears today and looked at them under a microscope of our own blood samples that we drew a few days ago during our venipuncture lab. My blood high a high number of eosinophils. I know this is the type of WBC found in response to allergens and things like that. My professor asked me if I had allergies. I said no. Then he said "I would ask another question, but I don't want to embarass you". What would he have asked that correlates to a high eosinophil count that would have embarassed me?

I'm in some desperate need for help on this problem I can't seem to fully wrap my head around...(the answer is perfect squares due to odd # of factors, but I must explain it clearly!! How?)

There are 1000 open lockers at a school, one locker for each of 1000 students. The first student comes in and closes all the lockers. The second student comes ina nd changes the condition of each second locker (so if a locker is closed, it is opened, and if a locker is open, it is closed). In other words, the second student opens lockers #2, 4, 6, 8, ...., 1000. Then the third student comes in and changes the condition of each third locker, i.e. opens locker #3, closes locker #6, opens locker #9, etc. The fourth student changes the condition of each fourth locker, the fifth student does so for each fifth locker, and so on, until eventually the 1000th student comes in and changes the condition of the 1000th locker. Which lockers are now closed??

I have two right triangles of a different size. The legs of the smaller triangle are both 1, and the hypotenuse is sqrt2, and the two acute angles inside the triangle are both 45 degrees.

The bigger right triangle has a small leg of 1, and the long leg of sqrt3, and a hypotenuse of two, the two angles inside of it are 60, and 30 degrees
