Assuming the base is a face, 6+6 = 12. But if the base is a heptagon, 7 + 7 = 14.

The number of edges in a pyramid of n faces is 2(n --1)
the number of edges in a pyramid of 7 faces = 2(7 --1) = 12 Answer
See : a tetrahedron has 4 faces and 6 edges verifying 6 = 2(4 --1)
