My son wants to do his science fair project on different municipalities and their quality of water. We are trying to get information about the water supply and distribution system for northeast Illinois. I've read that over 100 suburbs get their water from the Chicago system, but I can't find a list or a map (there may be homeland security concerns with posting this information on-line). Do you know where this information is on-line (we are interested in and working on off-line sources as well)?

I called the pharmacist about taking piroxicam & feeling dizzy, with major headache and stiff neck. He said to go ahead & switch to ibuprophen which I did. One hour later my hands are red, sweaty & swollen! I called back & they said I must be allergic to the piroxicam & have some left in my system? And to just wait it out. That it takes between 4 to 6 hours before it's out of my system. So it's been 2 hours and I feel strange... what should I do? any advice please??

The equilibrium constant K for the reaction C (s) + CO_2(g) <--> 2CO (g) is 1.9 at 1000 K and 0.133 at 298 K.

1. If excess C is allowed to react with 21.0 g of CO_2 in a 3.00-L flask, how many grams of CO are produced at 298 K? At 1000k?

2. What are the partial pressures of each gas at 298 K? At 1000k?

3. Would you expect K to increase or decrease if the pressure were increased at constant temperature and volume?

In a zoo one of the information plaques said that the South Pole is "twice as cold" as the North Pole. What exactly is "twice as cold"?

Does it mean half as hot, so that the temperature in Kelvin is half? Does it mean twice as far away from some arbitrary temperature that defines where cold begins?

From what I've found, the temperature around the North Pole seems to average about 1 F / -17 C / 256 K while at the South Pole it averages -63 F / -53 C / 220 K.

A string is attached to three masses 4kg, 1kg and 6kg and the acceleration of gravity is 9.8m/s^2. A pulley has no mass and no friction and the string has no mass. The distance between the 1kg and 4kg is 2m and the string is 24cm long. The tension T1 is between the 4kg and 1kg, and the tension T2 is between 2kg and the pulley, both masses are on the left side and T3 is on the right side with 6kg. The 4kg is below the 1kg on the left side. I need to find the tension between the block with mass of 4kg and 1kg on the left hand side of the pulley and the answer has to be in units of N. Could someone explain how I can answer this.
