The B2 Spirit, the F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-22 Raptor, are all reputed to have a radar signature of a small bird, while the F-35 Lightning II is rumoured to be virtually invisible to radar.
So, if terrestrial aircraft are this stealthy, why do flying saucers show up as HUGE radar images, particularly when the radar is passive and only responds to transponders?
If they want to be seen so badly, why do they not just land in times square.
Or if they are so careful not to be noticed, then why do they blatantly advertise themselves?
Perhaps they do not have radar where they come from.
I find it hard to believe that a civilization as advanced as they must be to have conquered interstellar distances, have not stumbled upon echo-location.

In a machine shop with 100 automatic machining centres, a maintenance technician serves an 8 hour shift. If there is on average 12 machine breakdowns per 24 hours and if a Technician is away from the workshop 1 hour whenever he or she inspects a breakdown, how many technicians are needed on any given shift to have no more than 1% chance of a Breakdown going undetected? Assume breakdowns are detected only from the workshop

we have a circle with the center ( x-center , y-center ) and the radius ( r-circle ).
so how can we find the end points on this circle ( x-end , y-end ).
for example x-center = 20 , y-center = 20 , r-circle = 10 , what is the x-end and y-end. ( ( x-center , y-center ) is the central point and ( x-end , y-end ) is on of the points on circumference )

The following paragraph was inside a news article on Yahoo today.
"Like the much larger, supermassive black holes found at galaxy centers, stellar-mass black holes have such powerful gravity fields that not even light can escape them. Astronomers estimate their mass by measuring their gas emissions and the gravitational effect on the stars they orbit."

I understand how they would have a gravitational effect on the stars they orbit and even other bodies.

But how can GAS escape if the gravitational field is so powerfull that not even light can escape?

This does not make any sense at all.

I bought rose bulbs at $11.55/bag, and violet bulbs at $13.65/bag, as well as some gardenia at $21.45, camellia at $30.03 and japanese maple at $50.05. The final bill came to $600.92.

How many gardenia did I buy?

because the light seemed like it was following us. It would stay still for a few minutes and just blink its lights like crazy. then it would start moving up and down, side to side, zig zagging, very very fast! then it would move across the sky and then kind of dim out... what could this possibly be???

First off...I have always been told that NOTHING can escape a black hole. But, in my experience, I have found that there is usually at least one loophole, or exception to the rule, in everything.

I saw a documentary the other night on PBS about neutrino detection and learned that they were not (or hardly at all) affected by electromagnetism and gravity. And that they could travel through matter almost completely undisturbed. This got me thinking about if they could potentially escape, or at least be minimally disturbed, by black holes. Or maybe even pass straight through them completely undisturbed.

My understanding of black holes is that they have an immense gravity and nothing as of yet can be proven to escape them. But my understanding of gravity is that anything with a mass will be affected by it. So...if neutrinos have (practically) zero mass, and they have been proven to not be (practically) affected by gravity, what would happen near a black hole
