well most people confused that the world is going to end in 2012 but the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. So technically i don't think the world will end in 2012.

Probably yes or probably no..Yes because humans are mysterious beings(never underestimate humans) and especially when these dates are predicted hundreds of years ago you never know who these people are..probably some kind of god or something(in my opinion)..Year 2012 hasn't even arrived yet so it's too early to say that the world will not end and i don't think we really know...Earth will probably not end because those dudes in the past must have predicted wrongly or perhaps they want attention or scare people! XD Oh and anything might happen suddenly like a big meteorite or something..So we might not even know when the earth will end..maybe today, maybe tomorrow.

No I don't think the world will end in 1012.
In 2013 all the people who said the world would end in 2012 will be to embarrassed to admit they ever said that.

I assume what you're talking about is the prediction within the Mayan calendar that says the "Long Count" era will come to a close after over 5,000 years.

For people who haven't heard about this:

I don't think we're in any kind of imminent danger, but then again the Mayan calendar is very calendar is very precise. It's what this entire culture specialized in and they've never been wrong about anything before, so you never know...

Not that we aren't cranking enough smog into the air to somehow prevent any kind of occurrence.

Why should I? Certainly no one with any intelligence does. The question should be: Why are so many middle school students (or have I overestimated your educational status?) so gullible that they believe silly History Channel programming? Do you see any adults getting excited about their presumably imminent deaths? Have you ever wondered why adults aren't getting worked up about the end of the world? Think about it. Think very hard. Go ahead, you can do it. Maybe.

Every generation thinks the world will end in their generation, so why would it be ours? but remember, it could happen anytime. And quit watching the history channel, they also have a show on vampires, but I'm not asking about them.

The only references I have ever read about this supposed impending disaster have all been on internet forums. I read astronomy literature on a regular basis, and no "real" scientist is even thinking about this.

See ya in 2013!

Depends. Are the Americans going to elect another member of the Bush family by then?

N N, how the hell do you know God knows everything? Told you himself, has he?
If he's so bloody good, why doesn't he show up and sort out the bloody mess his creations are making of the planet?

Tell you what, go and spout your religious shite on a religious question, yeah?
