Acute abdominal pain may have its origin in testis--testis is intra abdominal originally and adult, derives innervation,blood and lymphatic supply from abdomen,
MIdsternal pain is cardiac even if heart is on the left side ---because embryologically heart is a mid line organ.
Anginal pain in true dextrocardia --radiates along right shoulder and right arm
Renal pain is referred to the back -- as kidney is a posterior retro peritoneal organ.
Pain from diaphragmatic pleura-- is referred neck because diaphragm is innervated by phrenic nerve with nerve root C4 5.
So understanding referred pain is very important in diagnosing pain.
