By means of a rope whose mass is negligible, two blocks are suspended over a pulley, as the drawing shows, with m1 = 12.2 kg and m2 = 43.4 kg. The pulley can be treated as a uniform, solid, cylindrical disk. The downward acceleration of the 43.4 kg block is observed to be exactly one-half the acceleration due to gravity. Noting that the tension in the rope is not the same on each side of the pulley, find the mass of the pulley.

Anybody have any idea how to do this?

I would appreciate any help.

Thank You.

At an altitude of 10000m (about 33000 ft.), the air pressure outside the airplane is only 2.7 x 10 to the 4th power N/m squared, while inside is still at normal atmospheric pressure, due to pressurization of the cabin. Calculate the net force due to the air pressures on a door of area 3.0 m squared. If you can show me how you got the answer so I understand it I'd appreciate it.. Thank you

If a rock falls from a height of 20 meters on the planet Jupiter, then its height (H) after T (t= seconds) is approx:

H(t)= 20-13t^2

What is the average velocity of the rock from t=0 to t=1
What is the instantaneous velocity at time t=1
What is the acceleration of the rock?
When does the rock hit the ground?

I have no idea when the damn rock hits the ground! lol. something to do with the acceleraion of gravity.

Carry out the following steps to sketch the graph of
f(x) = x / (1 + x^2) :
(a) Find the local maxima and minima of f. Compute the local maximum and minimum values. Give the intervals of increase and decrease.
(b) Find the infection points of f. Give the intervals where f is concave upward and
where f is concave downward.
(c) Determine if f is even or odd.
(d) Find lim as x approaches infinity of f(x) and lim as x approaches infinity of f(x).
(e) Make a careful sketch of the graph of f that reflects the above information.

Butane, C4H10, is a component of natural gas that is used as fuel for cigarette lighters. The balanced equation of the complete combustion of butane is:

2C4H10(g) + 13O2(g)->8CO2(g) + 10H2O(l)

At 1.00atm and 23*C , how many liters of carbon dioxide are formed by the combustion of 1.00g of butane?

For the above...I have converted 1g of butane=0.017204mol (1g*1mol/58.1234gC4H10) = 0.017204mol C4H10
Then: mol CO2= 1g*1mol/44.011g = 0.2272mol CO2
(if these are the correct initial approach????)

The temp=23*C + 273.15K = 296.15K
The Volume=????
Constant R I will use is: 0.082058L atm mol K
n...?????

I know that I should somehow divide the 8moles of CO2 with the 2moles of C4H10...but not sure how to do this. I tried 0.547L as an answer but it wasn't correct.

Please help and point out what I was doing incorrectly. I thought that I had it figured, but I figured incorrectly.
Thank you in advance!!
