The force of attraction between two magnets if F Newtons. This force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance, D centimetres, between the magnets.

When the magnets are a certain distance apart, the forcce is 10 Newtons. What is the force when this distance is doubled?

I know that the temperatures stop falling at the freezing point because the energy of the heat of fusion must be taken away (the liquid must turn solid or vice versa) before the temperature falls again, but exactly why? also, howabout the melting point? the temperature stops rising there too, why?

Answertariat:

Why can glider's glide with minimal altitude loss?

Here is my flawed reasoning for why they cannot!
Lets say we have a glider that weights 100kg flying through the air at a speed of 10m/s. Traveling at this speed, it generates a lift of ~1 kN (F = mg so it stays at constant altitude). The kinetic energy of the glider is 5kJ. Without energy entering the system, the kinetic energy should be converted into lifting force. By this reasoning, the glider should reach zero velocity in just a few meters.

Basically, it seems like the force required to keep a plane in the air is less than the force driving it at a constant velocity.

I have to calculate the concentration of the NaOH solution I used in a titration lab from my data. So my volume was 0.02830L and the amount of moles was 0.1025mol. Then I divided the moles over litres to get 3.6mol/l. But in the titration it was the volume of NaOH used to titrate 10.00ml of 0.15M H2C2O4 so now I'm confused because it took 28.30mL to titrate the oxalic acid. Would I have to include the other amounts (10.00ml of 0.15M H2C2O4) and if yes how would I do that?
