All of the above.

A) By keeping the cells the same size it allows for extra cells to be added in as the organism grows. It is an advantage to have many small cells as opposed to having few large cells.
B) Single celled organisms divide by mitosis. So each time they divide the create a new daughter cell which is essentially another life.
C) Cells divide for many reasons including repair, for this the cells need to divide in order to possible cover a wound in new skin cells or repair a damaged organ.
