Hi, I'm doing a high school "case study" project and I need to determine a diagnosis for my case. To make a long story short, my patient had a pH blood level test done and the results came back indicating it was high. What does that mean? Does that suggest an infection, or maybe cancer?

What causes a basic change in pH? (in the blood)

I don't know the exact origins of the doom prophecy for 2012, but after debunking these "alignment" claims, I have discovered something I didn't know before.
Sure, the ecliptic and the galactic equator intersect at two points in Sagittarius. The galactic center is about 5 or 6 degrees away. Not impressive. And this "alignment" occurs every year. But what I discovered is that the intersection of these two planes occurs *right* on the winter solstice, maybe even within a couple of *hours* of it.
Now, imagine someone poring over charts and old calendars and seeing this, apparently corresponding with the last day of the Aztec calendar. Sure, the person should have asked some questions about it, but if they didn't know this happens every year, I could see why doom-diggers would flip out. Is this what got them all excited? Well at least it wasn't a total waste. I learned something.

Is there a way to save them? I know, I know...Americans eat cows and pigs. But, cows cant bond with humans like dogs. Dogs grow up wth you. God gave us cows to eat and get milk. He labled dogs as "mans best friend." Why do other countries eat dogs? Do you eat dogs? What kind of dogs do those people eat? Can I save them?

I have an experiment to neutralize CaCO3 with HCl by titration (titrationg HCl into a CaCO3 solution). I dissolved an antacid tablet with 1000mg of CaCO3 in it into water and according to my calculations it would take about 167mL of 0.030mol/L hydrochloric acid to neutralize it (used phenophthalein as an indicator- waited for it to turn from pink in the CaCO3 solution back to colorless). However when I actually did the titration my titration values ranged from 1.2 mL-2.1mL with the consistent values at about 1.9 mL, well short of what I expected. Does anyone know if there is some sort of hidden reaction or something which causes results to go weird? For my stoich calculation i used CaCO3 + HCl --> CaCl2 + H20 + CO2
thanks
