I have a theory that since we are carbon based lifeforms, and since the Earth is one big electromagnetic dynamo, than it may be possible that we can somehow be recorded during our activities in life, and somehow played back as "ghosts". (Similar to a VHS tape) Any comments on this theory?

Solve the differential equation dy/dx=y^(1/2), y(0)=0, 0<=x<=2 using ode45 and
dfield. What happens if y(0) = epsilon
(a very small number such as 10^(-8) ) is used as the
initial condition? Why? Provide the solution and two plots; one from ode45 and
one from dfield.

The most efficient vacuum that we have ever made on Earth is not nearly as empty as the void of space, apparently.

So just how many atoms are 'floating' around up there in a portion of space? (doesn't have to be a cubic square - whatever is easiest to visualise).

just curious ... with dropping lake levels in South Carolina, a lot of them are appearing in the sand and rocky areas on the side above the water line. while there are also a lot of shells and dead ones (shell open and either nothing inside or it is obvious that the tissue inside is dead and starting to decay or be eaten by insects) there also seem some which are intact and otherwise look viable (shell closed, in relatively damp soil which has only been out of water for a few hours to day or two and cooler temperatures)

any chance that these are still alive? I throw them back in just for the fun of it. (don't suggest eating them ... pollution, algea, bacteria aside ... dead or dying shellfish is not worth the risk ...)

http://zebu.uoregon.edu/1997/images/hubbledeep.jpg

It's called the Hubble Deep Field. It was an image made of a tiny point of sky, that appeared completely black to the naked eye. Using the Hubble Telescope, multiple exposures over many orbits were made, creating this image. Just about every dot, spot, smudge, and hazy patch is a galaxy! To me, the image has implications that are difficult to even express. The phrase 'Worlds without end' never had such a deep meaning to me before. If a tiny pinpoint of sky has THIS, then, spread over the whole sky...it's just unbelievable. I feel something akin to religious awe, though I'm not religious. It's like trying to contemplate forever, like looking Infinity straight in the eye. What do you think?
