A worker pushes horizontally on a 35kg crate with a force of magnitude 110N. The coefficient of static friction between the floor and the crate is 0.37. The crate does not move at this point. Suppose that a second worker pulls directly upward on the crate to help out. What is the least vertical pull that will allow the first worker's 110N push to move the crate. At this point I have found the static frictional force and the maximum frictional force. The difference of the 2 is 16.91 N

A test vehicle on a track goes through photo gates spaced 25 m apart at the following times: 2.00 sec, 3.30 sec, 4.30 sec

a) Plot the position versus time of the vehicle.

b) Plot the average speed of the vehicle in the time intervals versus time.

Next Q) A rally driver has to maintain a constant speed between checkpoints. She arrives at these points at the following times

26 mi at 31 min 12 sec

48 mi at 57 min 24 sec

87 mi at 1 hr 43 min 15 sec

105 mi at 2 hr 8 min and 49 sec

a) What is the most probable (i.e. average) speed that she is trying to maintain?

b) What is her largest deviation from this average speed?

This is the hard one) What is the acceleration of a vehicle that charges its velocity from 100 km/h to a dead stop in 10 s?

Two bulbs of resistances R1 and R2 such that R1 > R2. They are connected in series. Which is brighter? What would be the case if they were connected in parallel?

~So far what I put is that in the series, the one with the least resistance would be the most brightest because it has more current flowing through it (I=V/R)

~If in parallel, I am not sure

Can you please explain to me the correct answer without using any equations. I am very confused.

A student determined to test the law of gravity for himself walks off a skyscraper 900ft tall, stopwatch in hand and starts to feefall (velocity initial equals 0 ). Five seconds later superman arrives at the scene and dives off the roof to save him.
A. what must be supermans initial velocity if he is to catch the student just before he hits the ground?
B. What must be the height of the building so that even superman can not save him? (assume supermans acceleration to be that of a free falling body)

Consider a steady flow of air through the diffuser portion of an axisymmetric wind tunnel. The air speed along the center line decreases from a value of 10 m/s at x=0 to 5 m/s at x=2 meters. The wall of the diffuser is a conical surface whose radius at the entrance is 1.0 meter.

What is an expression for the centerline speed as a function of x?

What is the acceleration along the centerline at x=1 meter?

I really don't get it. Even if you do tell me the answers these questions are Reteach questions. I don't turn these in for any credit.
