The terminal speed of a sky diver is 160 km/h in the spread-eagle position and 315 km/h in the nosedive position. Assuming that the diver's drag coefficient C does not change from one position to the other, find the ratio of the effective cross-sectional area A in the slower position to that in the faster position.

This is the answer:
3.8759765625

I just need to see how to get to the answer, I know it's simple, but I think I'm missing something THANKS :)

Today we were told to revise standard form but some of it I really don't understand. It's probably just a silly misunderstanding but could someone say it in plain and clear.

One of the questions: 52100 in standard form and the answer is 5.21 x 10 to the power of 4.

Our teacher said the dec pl. has to be between 1 - 10. But then wouldn't 52.1 be between one and ten?

Please explain as I have a test!

A 4.0 kg block is pushed 4.2 m up a rough 37° inclined plane by a horizontal force of 75 N. If the initial speed of the block is 2.2 m/s up the plane and a constant kinetic friction force of 25 N opposes the motion, calculate the following.

a) the initial kinetic energy of the block
=....J
(b) the work done by the 75 N force
=....J
(c) the work done by the friction force
=....J
(d) the work done by gravity
=....J
(e) the work done by the normal force
= 0 J
(f) the final kinetic energy of the block
=....J

You may use any of the commonly used operations except 4 factorial. You can ONLY use four 4's. No more, no less. The only digit you can use is 4.

Hint: You can use 4/4, exponents, square root of four, 44, .4, 4 to the square root of 4 power, etc, etc.
The only operation you may not use is 4! (4x3x2x1)

Good luck!
