When you look at statistics, it there have been many more tornadoes recorded annually during the past 10 to 20 years than in previous years. Does this mean that the severe weather of Tornado Alley is getting even MORE severe? Why might the statistical records show an increase?

A particle initially located at the origin has an acceleration of 2.00 m/s2 and an initial velocity of 0 = 8.00 m/s.
(a) Find the vector position at any time t (where t is measured in seconds).
( t i ) m
Find the vector velocity at any time t.
( + wrong check mark
The correct answer is not zero.t ) m/s

(b) Find the coordinates of the particle at t = 3.00 s.
x = m
y = m

Bought 100% apple juice in a plastic 96 oz container. Drank some, no problem. A few days later I took the cap off and it was totally carbonated. Smelled like Alcohol too. Poured it out into the sink, and it fizzed like Ginger ale. Can this occur naturally, or did some "house guest" play a sick joke?

I was walking this morning at around 4:45a.m. in a residential street. and in one of the neighbors yards there were four deer grazing. I heard a growl and at the same time the deer bolted. This is not a rare occurrance I live in Humboldt County in a part of town bordered by country, redwoods, farms etc..last year I came upon a black female and at least one cub maybe two. Because I grew up on 12 acres of Redwoods on a farm I'm used to wildlife and track bear, mountain lions etc.. However; I've never seen more than one adult in an area and there were at least two. The biggest one was sitting on it's haunches and was easily 200lbs. I had my very weak flashlight and half of a binnocular that's very old. But I'm very sure they were mountain lions. I just want to be totally sure. I think I should call animal control because two or three adults running together doesn't sound right to me. Any input?

Subsonic sounds are sounds which are of frequencies below the minimum hearing range of humans. But these sounds can travel long distances without getting distorted. Some animals can feel such vibrations which are naturally caused by the earth which warns the animals about earth quakes days before they reach their location. But my point is, if we can study these sounds we can build a better earthquake detection system using proper electronics...

1. What's the use of knowing the center of gravity?
2. Is the center of gravity of a meterstick always located at the 50cm mark?
3. What do drivers mean when they say the car needs wheel balancing?
4. A traffic signal light is suspended by the cables. Under what condition will the tension be equal to the weight of the signal light?
5. Is it possible for the center of gravity to lie outside the body?
6. Does the center of gravity always coincide with the geometrical center of objects?

My answers: 1. for balance? 2. Yes (because it's a regular shaped object?) 3. wheel balancing - allows tires to spin without causing vibrations. 4. translational equilibrium (first) 5. Yes. 6. No (for irregularly shaped objects?)

Are my answers correct? Any more additional info to be added is appreciated. Thanks!

Some months ago I asked the question at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoZQQ796ABG1xfCSMoOOT9pIzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20070326151241AAxToH1
about bilateral condensation points of R. We should prove that, if S is an uncountable subset of R, then the set of it's bilateral condensation points, as well as the set of the bilateral condensation points of S that are in S, is uncountable. Then, I came up with a proof cited in the additional details to the original question. A bit messy, but I think it's right. I would like opinions of people who, like you, enjoy such problems.
Thank you

Definitions: If S is a subset of a topological space, we say x is a condensation point of S if every neighborhood of x contains uncountably many elements of S. We can prove that, if S has a countable topological base and S is uncountable, then the set of condensation points of S is uncountable. In the case of R, there are 2 kinds of condensation points:
