This is an interesting question, but not worth a star unfortunately, because it has been asked several times before. It is a rare example of an intentionally created urban myth, perpetrated by a researcher who downloaded it to the net, to demonstrate how urban legends start. It was sucessful beyond her wildest expectations. It seems believable, but incongruous; two requirements for an urban myth to develop.
