express in a single logarithm

ln(a + b) + ln(a - b) - 3 ln(c)
e^(a+b)+e^(a-b)-3e^(c)
(a+b)(a-b) cancel each other?
leaving 3e^(-c)?
or is my thought not correct?

The class I am in right now is mixed with the BC calculus and the teacher wants the AB kids to learn BC stuff as well. The problem is if I learn both I'm afraid I might fail the class because just doing AB seems easier. Should I just take calculus in high school or learn it in college? Will this make me look bad? Please help.

A ball with radius 0.1 m falls vertically downward while rotating with angular velocity, ω. The ball hits the ground at 10 m/s and bounces with the same vertical speed. The coefficient of friction, μ is 0.9 (same for static and kinetic friction).

What is the horizontal velocity of the ball after bouncing if:
i) ω = 400 rad/sec
ii) ω = 500 rad/sec?

The mass moment of inertia of the ball is
I = 2/5 * mr^2
m = 1 kg (if needed)

A pyramid has a rectangular base 10 cm by 25 cm and four triangular faces; two opposing faces both with altitude 13 cm and the other two faces with altitudes of 20 cm and 15 cm. What is the volume of the pyramid, in cubic cm?

It's for Math Counts. Please do not solve it for me, because I want to solve myself. Instead, explain the steps to me, such as using examples.

Please list the steps too.
Such as 1) Add all altitudes and find average, etc...

I will choose a best answer if it is the one that helps me the most. Thank you~

How do you "factor by grouping" in Pre-Calc?

My pre-calc packet asks me to "factor by grouping".. and I am a bit confused.

Here are some of the questions that tell me to "factor by grouping":
1. x^3 - x^2 + 2x - 2
2. 2x^3 - x^2 - 6x + 3
3. 6x^3 - 2x + 3x^2 - 1

If you could explain it to me it would really help, thanks!
