Looking for an optical element that performs the same function as polarized film, except either direction of polarization is electrically controlled, or its polarization can be turned on and off (then I could just use two of them to get the same effect). I thought I heard of something like that - similar to an lcd in concept.

What method is used to work out this question? (please dont give me the answer, just the best way to work it out!);

a guy is an air-traffic contoller who controls the airspace between Cairns and Coolangatta.
Part of his job is to give instructions to pilots as to the path along which they fly.
He has control of a plane flying an altitude of 30 000 feet.
He orders the plane to descend by 3 000 feet at an angle of 30 degrees.

How far (in feet) has the plane travelled from the start of its descent to the time it has descended 3 000 feet?
Draw a diagram to help you.

Okkkk i have no idea how to work this out but like i said before pleeeeeaaaaase dont give me the answer! I only need to know the method of how to work this out.

Thanks guys!

Leon's new tank will collect water off the roof of his house which is 160m2. He intends to use the water for watering the garden and washing his car. Leon estimates that he will use approximately 80L of water per day. If the average rainfall in June is 70mm, how full will the tank become by the end of June if it is empty in the start?

- 1mm rain per m2 = 1L water

Note: Please show working out.

Thank-you so much.

Is it possible to fry bacon, an egg, or meat product on a human's back, if exposed to sunlight long enough.

We would like to know that if said product was left upon a person's back for long enough, if the sun would produce enough heat to cook said product enough to make it edible, not considering sanitation issues.
