There were two professors on Radio 5 Live earlier, refuting the statement that nothing can travel faster than light. They talked of 'quantum tumbling' (I think that's what it was), where two particles have infinite velocity and are faster than speed of light, i.e. absolutely instant, in other words in two places at the same time, but they are the same particle.

Can someone explain this further - is it true, what use could this be etc. Thanks

Just a couple.

1. (-5-i)+(6+2i)

2. (2-5i)-(-3+2i)

3. (1-3i)*(3+i)

4. (5-2i)^2

5. i/(3i+4)

6. Last one-
2*sqroot(5x+1)-8=0

Thses are all I missed. I need to see where I made my error.

I'm developing code for an embedded controller. I need to calculate the value of 10^x where x is a floating point number between -4 and 0.

I've tried using the built in C functions but they take too long.

I'm aware of a trick for whole values of x where you perform one calculation if x is odd and a different one if x is even. Afterward, you divide the binary value of x by 2 (shift x to the right one position) and repeat until x is 0.

Are there other tricks to calculate this value?

so basically all of the energy and TIME in the universe was clumped together in a little ball smaller than a grain of sand. then it exploded, and several seconds after that we have a period called quark soup. after that the universe cooled and atoms formed and now the universe is expanding faster and faster.

my question is, what is beyond the universe. think about it. matter and even light, can only travel so fast. so if u traveled far enough u would reach the end, the end of everything. but thats the problem, there cant be an end, its simply impossible. its not like there is a wall and all of the sudden u cant go any farther. so there has to be an area with nothingness, and since there is no energy or matter there, it would be uneffected be the big bang, so it would had to have been there before the big bang.

Do they exsist? If they do what do they do? Are they the opposite to black holes? Do they spew time and light back into the universe?

I've heard that a large fraction of the human genome is the same for all humans. What fraction is left over, i.e. how many base pairs are there that differ between most/all humans?

I wonder because I'm curious how many "possible" configurations (genetically speaking) there are for human beings.
