My parents are both one of 12. My mum is healthy and so are most of her brothers and sisters, but my dad isn't particularly and neither are (were) his brothers/sisters - heart disease, stroke and cancer have taken most of them. They both had relatively similar upbringings - poor with not much to go round. I have a similar look and body-shape (unfortunatley as I am a woman) to my dad so could that mean I have my mum's half of my genes in my physiological make up? Or am I just fooling myself?

Time goes only forward, not backwards. But in space, you can move back and forth, left and right, up and down. For each space dimension, you can go in two directions. If time would work in the same way, it would be possible to travel backwards in time. But how would it be the other way around: what would it be like if in all the three space dimensions there were only one direction, like with time?

we have all seen these collections of numbers in large brackets. But what exactly is a matrix?
Is it just a collection of scalar numbers or vectors?
I have seen in some textbooks the 'name' of the matrix given in bold letters but in some places not.

So what exactly is it?

Formulas to work with?
delta Tf = (Kf(mole of solute)) / (kg solvent)
delta Tb = Kb (same as above)
Freezing pt. of solution = 0 celcius - delta Tf
boiling pt. = 100 celcius + delta Tb

Kf of H2O = 1.86
Kb of H2O= 0.52
do you use Kb and Kf of H2O?
