If the hour and minute hands on a clock have a common axis of rotation and equal mass and the minute hand is long and thin whilst the hour hand is short and thick, which has a greater moment of inertia?

I thought the hour hand would have the greater moment of inertia because it's heavier, but I'm not really sure. Does anybody else have ideas?

Science is quickly evolving, and before you know it a full on "head transplant" will be not only possible, but actually carried out. Religious advocates say that removing one's head from one's body will deteriorate the integrity of the individual involved.
The real question is this: is the soul attached to the human body itself as in the heart, or is it a perceptive state of mind preserved in the brain. And with the removal of one's body, will the individual remain the same, or is it safe to say that with such a dramatic change it is impossible to remain who you once were.

An electron beam in an oscilloscope is deflected by the electric field produced by oppositely charged metal plates. If the electric field between the plates is 2.75 105 N/C directed downward, what is the force on each electron when it passes between the plates?

Hi,
The thing just exploded this evening, after bunging in eggs, for the amusement of the kids.
Well, they go pop with faces drawn on them, but now the machine has given up the ghost, and retired in a final manner.
I suppose it is technically " knackered"
But is the situation retrievable ?

All humourous help gratefully received.

Bob.

The people in this forum misunderstand. This is not a DEBATE forum. We're looking for answers. I'm frankly trying to disprove a myth.
Rather than trying to help, most people seem intent on disproving ME (the asking one) and SUPPORT the urban legend:
1. "I have personally spoken with people who have had "pet" turts/torts for many years...were over 40...over 30. Why is it so difficult to believe that there are animals that can out live humans?" [If the people were alive, the turtle was not over 200!] [The examples you give are 20-40 years. My grandfather is much older than 30-40! We're talking about 200!]
2. "No one can really tell...monitoring the same animal for the whole of its life is nearly impossible..."[That's why we invented WRITING!!]
3. "Monitor a turtle...Pass on your notes to someone younger you trust..." [That's PRECISELY what I am looking for: RECORDS passed on through generations PROVING a turtle is over 200.]
It's not for ME to prove! I'm looking for ANSWERS!

I had asked a similar question about a month ago but forgot to include in my details how much red iodine I had. White iodine is not available in Canada and I cannot find a pharmacist who will do compounding (rather frustrating I might add). In my other question, I was told that peroxide would turn red iodine clear so now I would like to know what amount of peroxide to use. Thanks for your time. Take care.

i've been meaning to ask this for ages (but only remember in bed when i'm going to sleep) - when you close your eyes at night do you see just black or do you see any colours or light (other than the image of the light you've just been looking at etc).

thanks x
