I want to solve it for N (i.e. find N in terms of k).
I'm doing this for a project on pi, I'm trying to find how many decimal places are necessary for there to be a 90% chance of having 'k' zeros in a row in a decimal approximation of pi.
So far I've been trying to use a Poisson distribution to model the distribution of k-lengthed chunks consisting only of zeros.

I got to the equation, which k and N must satisfy (but I am assuming you will be given k):

N*e^(-N*10^-k)=9*10^(k-1)

But I don't know how to solve that for N.

i tried it but i got stuck!!! heres what i did.
180-x-25
155-x equals the supplement but then you can find the actual #, making
155-x+x-25=180
155-2x-25=180
130-2x=180
-2x=50
x=-25.
If i plug the x into (x-25) and (155-x) then i get a negative # for (x-25), and you can't have negative degrees. What am i doing wrong?
Please show me what you did step by step like i did.

Can dino blood really survive for 65 millions years? http://www.creationontheweb.com/content/view/606 The evolutionist scientists that discovered it (Mary Schweitzer) cliams there must be some - as yet undiscovered- mechanism which has preserved the cells. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/02/0221_060221_dino_tissue_2.html but isn't a more credible explanation that they are not very old. After all there is much other evidence that man and dinosaurs (aka dragons) have coexisted. http://www.creationontheweb.com/content/view/3061/

"The whole subject of DNA preservation in fossils is controversial" they say! Too right - the evidence points to the fact that dinosaurs did not live millions of years ago.

With frozen embryos, invitrofertilization techniques perfected in 2007,genetic code pre dertermined by picking the sex, hair and eye color, and possibly cloning off of people who lived thousands of years ago. Is it possible that some mad scientist are out there creating creatures such as half horse, half man, such as in Greek Mythology for war time purposes,or perhaps half gorilla, half man,for scientific research.
Crazy scientific mad research, could have been done during WWII,so why not today in this crazy society we live in now . Do you think it is going on ?
