Statistics indicate a greater probability that you will experience extra terrestrial contact than the chances that you will win the state lottery.

According to a 1991 Roper Organization survey, some 2 percent of the U.S. population -- about 5.4 million people -- has had experiences that suggest UFO abduction.

But how do we prepare for such events?

At Tomorrowland in Disneyworld, the world´s greatest scientists together with Disney´s finest cartoonists have brought to life a scenario which can help us acclimatise to the inevitable alien encounters.

Also wear pullovers. When we are taken to the other planets where there is no atmosphere we can survive by breathing the trapped air in pullovers.

Any other ideas that could save lives?

There are 47 possible numbers that can be chosen in a correct series of 5 drawn numbers plus one Mega number. How could a calculation or formula be applied to estimate these? With 47 possible numbers the combinations must be massive, but is there a way to check exactly how many 5 number combinations are possible using the 47 numbers?

Also, I would imagine that in order to calculate the odds, all the winning number series would have to be known, right or not? I would assume that it would be similar in poker, how many times a royal flush or 4 of a kind would turn up predictively

Any math whiz care to offer a formula to the problem?

Given parabola y^2=2px (standard parabola equation), and a point on parabola P(X0, Y0)
Ask for the equation of tangent line passing through P(X0, Y0)

I'v worked out the equation but it looks complex, unlike tangent equation of ellipse's and hyperbola's, which are very standardised and similar to that of the conics.
(say:tangent equation of ellipse:
X0X/a^2+Y0Y/b^2=1 )

So I wanna make sure whether I had it right? or tangent equation of parabola doesn't look as standardised as those of other conics?

x(t) = Acos(w1 t)
y(t) = Bcos(w2 t - gamma)

here w1 is the angular frequency dealing with x and w2 is the angular frequency dealing with y.

I am trying to prove that if w1/w2 is rational then these functions are periodic
Then I want to prove that if w1/w2 is not rational then the motion never repeats itself.
