Can you please tell me? You don't have to give me a complete, full, detailed explanation. Maybe just a few sentences or more telling me why. I hope that's not too much to ask. Thanks!!! =)

You lose your electronic tag that you use to pay tolls on highways. It costs $24 to replace the tag, and the cost of the toll would be $3 if you don't use your tag. It would be half of that when you do. How many times would you need to use the tags to pay for the toll in order for the total cost to be the same as not using the tag?

I came up with the equation:
24+1.5x=3x

x stands for how many times you need to pass through. I got the answer 12, but I know it sin't right. I checked it, and the answer was suppose to be 16. I want to know if my equation is wrong, or if I am solving it wrong

For me math is very easy, I requested from my math teacher last year that she sign off on letting me have honors math for the next year. She said no becuase I only had a 90% in the class and you have to have 96% or higher to go onto geometry honors. I told her that I didn't even study for her class, but she still said no. Now, I'm stuck in regular Geometry with a 100% and I spend most off class doodling on my folder. Next year I will take Algebra 2/ Trig. and I want to know if you think that someone with a 100% in geometry that doesn't even study for the class should go into honors math for the next year? If my teacher says no to honors math again for me should I have my mom override my teachers decision?

I've read about bacterial endospores coming back on space equipment and still being able to grow and reproduce, so it makes sense that bacterial endospores would have survived the trip to Mars. Doesn't that mean we put life on Mars that could now grow and evolve? Does anyone have any more information or ideas about this?

Do you know how similar questions pop up as you are typing your question? How long do you think it will take before a truly similar question will always be found?
Three years?
Thirty years?
Three hundred years?

Or are there just too many permutations?

This is theoretical, of course. Yahoo may not even exist that far into the future.
