My physics project is something that has to launch a baseball and my idea was to make some sort of ballista/crossbow like weapon to launch it and instead of using a normal prod from a real crossbow as it would be too small in comparison to the size of crossbow/ballista i want to make, i was thinking of using a leaf spring from a car. Would this be a good alternative or are there any other materials i could use?

For whatever reason I was trying to think if anything could consistently produce random results. Something that can be repeated over and over again, using exactly the same method, and have no pattern, no probability, ever emerge? Computers can’t do it. A roulette wheel will eventually start showing wear and favor certain numbers, the same thing with dice. Could there be something in nature? Just a thought. Thanks.

If it's a process of evolution, then surely retractable claws would be great for all beings. Gills would be useful, I could make great use of wings too. Why hasn't a being evolved with all of the good things?
