A carpenter is making a brace for a chair. To do so she intersects two pieces of wood to make two sets of vertical angles. The obtuse angles formed are each 145º. What is the measurement of each acute angle formed?

Please tell me how you solved it.
Thanks

At certain points in its orbit, the occultation of a star by Uranus would not reveal the existence of Uranus’ rings. What points are these? How often does this circumstance arise?

When you see footballers kick a curling free kick the ball spins as we can see, say anti-clockwise for a right footer curling from right to left. When you kick a light plastic beach ball style ball in the same way it curves in the opposite direction. Why?

At two opposite points in Saturn’s 29.5-year orbit of the Sun, its rings are edge-on to the Earth; they are so thin that they seem to disappear for a time. The intervals between successive edge-on appearances alternate between 13 years 9 months, and 15 years 9 months. Explain how it can be that the intervals are unequal. please help!

An enemy ship is on the east side of mountain island. The enemy ship has maneuvered to within 2500 m of the 1800 m high mountain peak and only can shoot projectiles with an initial speed of 250 m/s. If the western shoreline is horizontally 300 m from the peak, what are the distances from the western shore at which a ship can be safe from the bombardment of the enemy ship?

Someone asked me for help with this question, but is it even possible to answer this question with the information given? If so can someone explain the steps?

Here's the exact phrasing of the question:

An asteroid has an equilibrium temperature measured as 200 Kelvin. What is the object's orbital period around the Sun?

Now below it says to use the information given in the previous question which is:

Assuming the Earth's radius is 637 km, the solar constant is 1370 w/m2, and our planetary albedo is 0.31, then:

(a) Determine total power entering Earth's atmosphere.
(b) The total power that would be asborbed in the absence of an atmosphere.
© Surface temperature assuming it radiated into space all the energy it absorbed.

I don't see how you can possibly tell the orbital velocity from what they give you to solve the problem.

This morning a small baby possum came out from under a chair my cat trapped him under for the night...I believe. The night before we heard noises coming from the fireplace insert and I believe somehow it came in that way and then found it's way into the house during the night. The possum has run out of the house. I am just wondering if there are more to come?? Could I have baby possums showing up in the next few days?? I am so not nature so I have no knowledge on this kind of thing at all. Could someone shed some light on this for me?

If you were using Microsoft Excel, how would you graph this:

This is the question

An open-top box is to be constucted from a 6 foot by 8 foot rectangular carboard by cutting out equal squares at each corner and then folding up the flaps.

Now it wants me to graph the function and show the graph over the valid range of the variable x.

1. Look at the circuit shown in Figure A-3. With switch S1 closed, you're making voltage measurements with your meter. Assume that each of the four resistors has a resistance value of 100 kW. You measure 3.6 V across resistor R1, 1.2 V across resistor R2, 1.2 V across resistor R3, and 2.4 V across resistor R4. What is the battery voltage in the circuit?
A. 10 V
B. 6 V
C. 4 V
D. 2 V

B?

2. Again, assume that each of the resistors in the circuit shown in Figure A-3 has a resistance value of 100 kW. With switch S1 open as shown, you measure the voltage across each resistor with your meter. Which of the following statements is correct?
A. Resistors R1, R2, and R3 will dissipate equal amounts of power.
B. Resistor R1 will dissipate the most power.
C. Resistors R4 and R1 will dissipate equal amounts of power.
D. Resistor R3 will dissipate the most power.

D?

this relates to an analogy used to discribe how many galaxies or stars there are in the universe. ie: count all the grains of sand on the earth multiply that by one million, and that is how many galaxies are in the universe. therefore, I'm curious if anyone has given thought to how many grains of sand on planet earth.
