How about oleoflies?

Does anyone actually call margarine oleo anymore?

Anyhow, it's thought that the name butterfly is probably a Spoonerism, a transposition of letters from 'flutter by', giving a 'fly' name similar to those given to many other insects.

Back in 1947, in an effort to keep up with changing times, butterflies actually tried to change their name to "margarineflys". But alas, it was never meant to be as small children wouldn't let that old joke die, "Why did the man throw the butter out the window?".
