ph means that we know the nature of the substance wether it is acid, base ,or neutral substance.while comming to the blood it has a ph of 7.4 it is basic.if it is greater or lesser than this it may cause changes in the total body organisation. the metabollic activity of the body depends on the ph of the blood

Normal blood has a pH between 7.35 to 7.45 with an average of 7.4.
Arterial blood has a very slightly increase value : 7.36-7.46.
pH changes or imbalances occur when conditions or diseases affects the concentration of two major buffers/substances in the body; these are HCO3 and H2CO3.

Normal pH is about 7.35. There are a series of buffers which help the
plasma resist any change in pH. Some of them include: the hemoglobin in the
red blood cells, other plasma proteins, the bicarbonate buffer and the
phosphate buffer.

The pH of blood is 7.4. Homeostasis keeps the blood buffered at 7.4. ( Homeostasis is a constant internal environment). Buffers that are dissloved in the blood is the best homeostatic mechanism for maintaining a normal blood pH.

pH of blood is generally slightly alkaline, at 7.4, but it can vary from say 7.3 to 7.6 depending on where the blood is in which part of the body.

pH is a measure of the acidity of a solution in terms of activity of hydrogen (H+). For dilute solutions, however, it is convenient to substitute the activity of the hydrogen ions with the molarity (mol/L) of the hydrogen ions (however, this is not necessarily accurate at higher concentrations). It measures acid-base status of body (hydrogen ion concentration)
