I'm suppose to factorise this equation: x^2 - 6x - 3 (for homework).. I've worked on it and the only solution i can get is:

(x-3)^2-6 = x^2-6x-3

checked: (x-3)(x-3) -6
x^2 -3x-3x+9-6
Therefore = x^2 - 6x + 3

Is this ok and also, is there any other method of doing this?? Suggestion welcome...

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving :-D

CONLUSION this is the bit i need help with! outline the reasons why this method only gives an approximate value, no matter how ACCURATELY the experiment is performed.

It has long been claimed that humans share 98.5% of their DNA with chimpanzees, though that estimate has more recently been reduced to about 95%.

http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn2833

Yet in a story today, scientists claim that 12% of the human genme can vary from one person to another.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/6174510.stm

So if one human is 95% similar to a chimp, yet only 88% similar to another human, are they more ape than man?

And if so, could they be Robbie Williams?
