The point of the daddy long legs whole existance is to let naughty boys pull there legs off in the school playground. And continually bump his head of the glass......
Seriously the cranefly only lives one day and does not eat. They live to breed and get tortured by children. What a life....

From memory and don't quote me.....They are the a species of spider with a venom more toxic than a funnel-web, and most of the top ten most venomous. Trouble is they are tiny and the quantity of venom just doesn't cut it in the spider versus human world. The point would be...harmless, broom away, the multiplication rate is terrific, see ya same place a week or two away!

myth of being the most poisonous insect, but unable to bite humans. So really, what is the point in daddy long legs? They don't live that long, they don't eat anything, they don't do anything other than mate.
So Appart from making that really annoying buzzing noise they do nothing, concluding that there is no point in the daddy longlegs, Daddy long legs or crane fly.

I got 9% on my Biology exam many moons ago, so this answer is complete guess work.
It might have something to do with the food chain, I think they provide food for loads of other creatures, a bit like the herring fish.

Point? They are part of the food chain, a natural evolution and part of life. You might as well ask what's the point of a cat, or even a human.
After all, if you subscribe to evolutionism, each species (and that definitely includes you and me) is here due to a endless series of random mutations and accidents.

They live to mate with as many females as possible in their short life span then they die, a lot like the entire male population. Give or take a few odd ones.

To piss me off!! Seriously I hate them they are way too dangly!! I also dont like the way they are the most poisonous things ever only they arent strong enough to bite through our skin or something!! Im convinced they are going to evolve to the size of birds and that will be the end of the human race!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!
