Here are a few names- Puma, Cougar, Mountain Lion, Felis concolor, leon, gato monte(cat of the mountain), cuguacuarana, black jaguar.

puma, cougar, mountain lion, and Felis concolor are the same species. There are no true black "panthers" (at least in the americas) That is not a species. You may be thinking of the jaguar, which can be black.

jaguars and leopards are the only big cats that can be black in color. Usually you can still see their spots underneath the black....especially in sunlight.
