Just looking at the rain belt area via satellite imagary it looks dry as a bone, but similar latitudes across Asia have had severe flooding this year as opposed to last year which was totally dry. Meteorologists' comments welcome.

Isn't there some sort of flooding of rivers in Somalia right now? That's northeastern Africa isn't it?

Pacific NW... record breaking rains this month, dry summer.. evens out.
