A particle P, moving along a straight line with constant acceleration 0.3m/s^2 passes a point A on the line with a velocity of 20m/s. At the instant when P passes point A, a second particle Q is 20m behind A and moving with velocity of 30m/s. prove that unless the motion of P or Q changes they will collide

A 3.827 g sample of this compound was burned in pure oxygen gas. The measured amount of CO2 produced was 5.256 g, while that of H2O was 4.303 g. No other products were produced in the reaction.

How many moles of carbon were in the original sample that underwent combustion ?

When a blood sample has been taken by crime scene officers and they say they have had a hit is that conclusive evidence that the sample they have can be definately matched to a sample on record? If so why would the police have to take another sample, I thought one sample would have been enough.

We have a question. If a skunk sprays. How long does it take for his stinkiness to "refill" so that he can spray again? We didn't know if they have control over alot or a little spray. Or if they can max out and have to wait a while before they could spray again. In case you are wondering, yes, we have been watching 'Over the Hedge'! lol

I'm solving for a particular solution to a system of differential equations that satisfies certain initial conditions, but when I solve for the eigenvalues I get a double root of 6.

...so I solved using the eigenvalue 6 for the eigenvector and got [1 2](vertical matrix)*e^(6t).

Are both the eigenvectors and functions the same? Cause then the constants cancel... so how do the general solutions change when you have double root eigenvalues?

Anyway, I'm seriously thinking about it, and wonder if anyone here WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS ABOUT THIS, OR DOES THIS FOR A LIVING (no guessers, please) could tell me about it, if you like it, hate it, how much it pays, etc.
thanks!

ok heres the example
Solving
6 + 2x = -2 + 4x

Solving for variable 'x'.

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-4x' to each side of the equation.
6 + 2x + -4x = -2 + 4x + -4x

why add '-4x' to each side instead of '2x', and how will I know which to do next time I solve a similar equation?

A pilot is flying at an air speed of 241 mph in a wind blowing 20.4 mph from the east. In what direction must the pilot head in order to fly due north?(Round to the nearest tenth degree with a direction E or W from north) What is the pilot's speed relative to the ground?

I guess it has to do with reslutants??

Thanks for any guidance and answers.
